Free music and art festival at the Venice Beach Music Fest 13 – Saturday, August 25, 2018!

The annual Venice Beach Music Fest celebrates its thirteenth year of totally free entertainment at the beach on Saturday, August 25, 2018, from 11:00 A.M. to 7:30 P.M. in Windward Plaza Park (1 Windward Avenue, between the boardwalk and the bike trail). The full day of art, music, and dance is headlined by Big Brother and the Holding Company. Also performing are Moonalice, The Venice Philharmonic Orchestra, Looner, Maureen and the Mercury 5, Boa, and Disreputable Few. Performances by ArtQueen’s Great Planet of Apparel Art & Fashion Show and dance troupes Arthur Murray, Ya Harissa Bellydance Theater, Samba Soul round out the day. An aftershow will be held immediately following the festival at Hinano Café.
This year’s visual art show includes work from RaRa Superstar, William Brun, Audrey McNamara, Gabby Tary, and Violeta Moreno-Gomez. Rainbow on a Mission will host a DIY public art project, “Marble Your Own Bandanna.” Eclectic Hoops will be on hand with hoops for play and sale, and DIABOLO Beverages and Honest Tea will be sampling. Humboldt soil producer Royal Gold’s booth will be staffed by a horticulturist to make product suggestions and give gardening advice. County of L.A. Registrar will be on hand for a non-partisan voter registration drive.
VeniceBeach Music Fest 13 is proud to be a community partner with the Westside Food Bank. The event will feature an on-site canned food drive. The first 50 concertgoers who bring 5 cans of food will receive a free event poster. Volunteers from local realty group Fineman Suarez will work the booth. The Westside Food Bank is currently accepting tax-deductible monetary donations on the festival Web site, www.venicefestivals.com.
